Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon is a nonprofit organization that redefines possible for youth throughout Central Oregon. We are a 501 ©(3) nonprofit corporation; donations are tax deductible. Our federal tax ID is #93-0667650.

There are many ways you can support Big Brothers Big Sisters. We are a 100% donor funded organization. Your financial support helps us provide professionally supported mentoring relationships for children facing adversity.  Together we can make the world and our community a better place by helping every child reach their full potential. Help is increase high school graduation rates, kids exploring post-secondary opportunities, kids who are connected to our community and kids who will grow up to be happy and productive members of our society.  We need your support to make their dreams come true!

It costs our agency approximately $1,000 per year/per match.  The math is easy ~ in order to serve 200 Bigs & Littles ~ we need a $200,000 budget.  For every $1 donated to mentoring services you will save $4 in taxes keeping kids incarcerated in the juvenile justice department.

Your financial support redefines possible by:

  • Recruiting new Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers.
  • Covering the costs of background checks, while ensuring trained professionals match Littles to responsible Bigs.
  • Enabling ongoing supervision and relationship support for every Big, Little and Little’s family.
  • providing cultural and social activities to enrich the opportunities for children.
  • Ongoing training for volunteers.
  • Family support.
  • And most importantly to ensure child safety throughout the duration of the mentoring relationship.

Volunteer Support

We are always looking for volunteers to be Bigs or help with our events.

Becoming a Big: We currently have over 150 volunteer Bigs in our programs matched with children in our area. Volunteers spend an average of 6-12 hours for a mandatory 1 year commitment with their Little in the community. Often activities can include riding bikes, walking in the park, cooking or attending a BBBSCO sponsored event. Event Volunteers:  BBBSCO has two large events per year, Bowl for Kids; Sake and Comedy Benefit, and are always looking for volunteers. In-Kind Support

Businesses can donate goods or services to BBBSCO for monthly activities and/or auction or raffles.

BBBSCO provides monthly activities for the matches in our organization.  Many volunteers range in financial abilities so BBBSCO works with businesses in our community to provide a free or low cost option for our matches.  Join business like Mt. Bachelor, Bend Research, Dianne’s Riding Place, Central Oregon Pumpkin Co. and many more to help provide fun, educational, and/or community improvement options for the matches in our programs. To plan an activity at your business or to provide items to a match activity,  please contact our Match Specialist, Jenna Rands, at jrands@bbbsco.org or 541-312-6047.

Businesses can also donate gift cards and/or hard goods to our events: -Bowl for Kids’ Sake and Comedy Benefit.  Bowl for Kids’ Sake is an event for every age and includes a raffle of 90 items. Comedy Benefit is a fun night out for adults 21 years and over that includes 2+ comic acts, a delicious dessert bar and amazing live and silent auction packages.
