What is a big?
A Big is a volunteer mentor matched one-to-one with a child (Little) in our program. Bigs are supportive friends and positive role models who show up consistently wand help a young person see new possibilities and build-confidence.
Bigs are not a parent, babysitter, or therapist. They are a caring adult who offers encouragement, perspective, and steady support.
Once matched, each Big and Little is supported by a Match Support Specialist who helps guide the relationship, check in regularly, and provide resources, coaching, and guidance. Our team is here to answer questions, offer support, and ensure a safe, meaningful, and successful match for everyone involved.
Volunteering just a few hours a month with a child can start something amazing. So why not apply to be a Big today. There are kids out there ready to get started. Are you?
